Favorite Things: Ocala, Happy, and of course his cousin Howard!
Tricks and Talents: Otis loves hanging out with the staff and of course his Mom and Dad. Otis is very good at coniving his way into extra treats with that puppy dog look. The groomers always look forward to his weekly Shedicure on Tuesdays!

Howl-O-Ween!

Responsible Dog Owner's Day

We had yet another successful event this year! With representatives from Natura with California Natural, Innova, and Evo food samples the dogs were well fed. Also, volunteers from Puppy Love/Love Cats animal shelter brought some very responsible dogs to show off that are in need of good homes. The fun didn't stop there. Stacey Hawk gave agility pointers to all the prospective agility champions of the world. We also had behaviorists, Janice Triptoe and Lisa Collins to perform Canine Good Citized tests and also saved some time for fun with paw prints, prizes, find the treat games, and good people food too!

Olympic Champions!

We had a blast at our Olympic Daycare Party last Friday! Everyone went home with a gold medal although there was some close competition. The United States won in the medal standings with 8 gold medals with Lebanon a come from behind close second with 5 medals. No Olympic competition is complete without doves at the closing ceremony. Our party is no exception. Every dog also went home with their own dove as a reminder of their great time at daycare!

Lucy is a very sweet girl and the staff always looks forward to seeing her.

ABOUT HIM: Fergus is a happy, well spoken, adventurous little guy who loves to hang out in daycare with the staff. He is always showing his festive side by dressing up for daycare parties and holidays. His favorite is lounging in daycare with all of his friends or getting hugs from the staff. We always enjoy having Fergus around.

TRICKS & TALENTS: Elwood is a loveable Vizsla who has been coming to daycare for a couple years and loves EVERY minute of it! He loves to show off to the staff by standing on his hind legs and dancing. He also loves playing in playgroups with the other dogs. Elwood is such a good boy and makes playgroups tons of fun!

FAVORITE THINGS: Playtimes, shopping for new toys

TRICKS AND TALENTS: Max is a 5 year old huggable German Shepherd who has been coming to the center for a couple of years now. He really enjoys roaming the daycare room with all his friends and getting lots of pets from the staff. Max is a very sweet boy and the staff always looks forward to seeing him.

CANINE COUGH NOTICE

Please be advised ...

Canine Cough has been diagnosed in our area on multiple occasions. Canine cough is an extremely contagious upper resporatory disease which is spread by an air-born virus. It shows symptoms that include a runny nose, slight fever, hacking cough, and possible loss of appetite. Just as in the common cold, it is not "cured" but must run its course. The symptoms can be controlled through antibiotics and/or cough suppressants from your veterinarian.

Since these viruses can be present anywhere and are air-born, they can travel considerable distances. It is possible to catch canine cough by simply walking down the street. It can affect any dog, even one that never leaves its own backyard.

Best Friends Windy City is taking every prevetative measure to ensure this virus does not contaminate our kennel.



If your dog has been coughing, running a temperature(normal k9 temperature ranges from 100F-101F), please keep your best friends at home. We reserve the right to refuse entry for daycare or to board any dog that we feel may jeopardize the health and well being of the rest of the dogs staying with us.



This will ensure the safety of all our clients as well as any other dogs that may pass in our area.

TRICKS AND TALENTS: Wally has been coming to Best Friends for 1 1/2 years now and loves playing in playgroups with his best bud, Rusty! Wally is such a sweetie! He loves to sit pretty, give paw, and wag his tail! He also LOVES to play with the rope toy and get lots of attention from the staff. He is such a good boy!
